Mozione di solidarietà per gli operatori sanitari e addetti alle pulizie SAGE (UK)
In questo momento c’è una dura lotta degli operatori sanitari e addetti alle pulizie presso la SAGE Nursing Home nel nord di Londra, questa lotta è organizzata dalla UVW.
Questi lavoratori sostengono da mesi turni massacranti, rischiano ogni giorno la salute e la vita, prendendosi cura degli anziani, in una delle città in cui il bilancio delle vittime della pandemia è spaventoso: il Regno Unito è stato colpito con più di mille morti al giorno nel mese gennaio.
Una paga di sole 8,72 sterline l’ora non è assolutamente adeguata al costo della vita locale.
L’UVW sostiene e organizza la lotte dei lavoratori che chiedono aumenti salariali, un salario dignitoso del 12% all’ora, indennità di malattia piena, ferie annuali in linea con le tariffe del NHS e riconoscimento sindacale. Questa lotta può cambiare la situazione in un settore assistenziale distrutto, caratterizzato da salari da fame, pessime condizioni di lavoro e scarsa sicurezza.

Solidarity motion with care workers and cleaners SAGE (UK)
The Fronte di Lotta No Austerity supports the demands of United Voices of the World, a combative British trade union.
In this moment there is a strong fight by care workers and cleaners at SAGE Nursing Home in the North London, this fight is organised by the UVW.
These workers have been working gruelling shifts for months, risking their health and their lives every day, taking care of the elderly, in one of the cities where the death toll from the pandemic is appalling – the UK was hit more than thousand dead a day in January.
A wage of only 8.72 pounds an hour is absolutely not adequate for the local cost of living.
The UVW support and organise the fight when the workers demand higher wages, a living wage of 12% per hour, full pay sick pay, annual leave in line with NHS rates and trade Union recognition. That struggle can change a broken care sector characterised by poverty pay, poor working conditions and poor job security.
